I was planning on building a greenhouse that is 10 ft x 12 ft and about 8 ft high. How big of a smart pot should I buy? I want the biggest possible pots I can put in this greenhouse without it growing too much. Anybody got personal experience on this? I was planning on putting a raised bed but I'm afraid it will outgrow the greenhouse. Is 8 feet high enough?
Hmm...what part of the world are you in? I'm growing in Los Angeles with my plants in direct sun all day (12+ hours in the summer). They're in 20 gallon fabric pots. Germinated the seeds shortly after 4/20. One of them, OG Kush, is now over 7 feet tall not counting the height of the pot. Counting the height of the pot, it's about 9 feet tall. The other plants range from 6 to 7.5 feet tall counting the heights of the pot. And remember, they're all gonna continue to grow even more in flower. I suppose you could always train them etc. You could also germinate your seeds later. I might do that next year. I didn't realize I would end up a 9 foot plant lol...
I used 100 gal smart pots and topped several times last year. They were 8-9 feet tall and 8 to 10 wide. I plan to use a raised bed next time myself. Smart pots are cool, but a raised bed would be better. I had a vole or something chew through the bottom of one,and they took more water than necessary to keep the moisture even i feel.
I'm cheap I use 45 gallon white food grade buckets that I got from my church bake sale that came with cake icing in them lol
