Hello Sick plants section, This is my first grow and I have a week old seedling with white spots I use a cotton swab to remove the magnifying effect after watering. I thought it was the residue from the swab, but i can't seem wipe it away. I went to see under the leaves, didn't see much, but no signs so far.. The seedling are quite fragile and i dont want to snap the stem by applying more pressure. Would this be first signs of spider mites or thrips? (attached picture) My humidity levels varies from 20 to 50. Temps are at 75-80. Im using the biobizz light mix, shouldn't be too hot for seedlings. No nutes started just yet. And one more question, does this seedling look healthy? Thanks in advance!
Those are print pattens from the inside of it's old home, it's shell, on it's fist leaves. I see no issues...except the cotton still attached to the glands on it. Plants from seed don't come with mites, the clones someone gives you come with the mites. Or they come in from outside. Water doesn't magnify light, or we'd all burn up every time it rained. That's a stoner myth. There are lots of them. Seedlings do best with a humidity dome over them, they like less transpiration, more root formation time and all that. I'd find a lid for that baby for a week or so...
Thanks for the reply! Really helped alot! Are these still print patterns, if they first came on later, just before the 2nd set of leaves were shown?
I found out that it was the water! I'm using tap water to water my plants. I poured water on a dish and let it evaporate, left with a white residue, which i believe is calcium Would it be unhealthy to water with the tap water I have now?
