Do you mean once you take your finger off the shotgun, how long do you suck for? It depends on the size of the chamber, you're not gonna keep trying to inhale after it's been cleared..

thats not what a shotgun is... yeh id say i inhale for about six seconds also. has anyone ever done an original shotgun out of a real shotgun, that shit hits hard, smoke just pours out of the barrel of the gun.. pretty sweet

If you weren't an elitist bastard, you'd explain it. Regional differences - I probably know what you're talking about, but under a different name. Only other shotgun i can think of is basically 'passing someone your hoot' (mouth to mouth, blowing your hoot into their lungs)
