Setting and programming a PID for my rosin press

Discussion in 'DIY and Homemade' started by haliganguy, May 22, 2018.

  1. Hi all, I have the Inkbird ITC-106VH. I’m using this with 110V cartridge heater for use with 6” x 6” aluminum billet plates. I am able to send the heat output without an issue. My problem is the thermal inertia, the PID is not yet programmed to slow the heat delivery as it approaches the desired set point. The PID sends power as the temp climbs, and the power stops when the set point is reached - but the temp continues to rise again because of the inertia. Can someone help with the programming of he hysteresis? Or maybe it is the auto-tuning. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. Did you ever figure it out?
    I'm having the same problem.

Purchased the set up so I didn't wire it.
I did however find a video for a walk through in the settings. After figiting with the settings it doesn't stay at the Set Value temperature. The temp only climbs up. I am using my multimeters temp setting to confirm temperature.

Another thing I noticed was the PV or perceived value is low so the low alarm is going off.

Not sure what I did but I tried reconfiguring the settings with no success.

Help would be appreciated. Thank you in advanced.
