This planet will never end, ever. It may decay, and turn out to look like, mars for example sometime in the next billions of years. But it's not going to blow up or anything, lol.
There will most likely be a portion of the population, no matter how small, that will be naturally immune to whatever disease wipes out most of humanity (assuming such a thing is possible). For instance, some people simply can't get AIDS. Something in their genes allows them that immunity. EDIT - ^ You realize that the Sun is going to evolve into a red giant and engulf Earth, right? So yes, it will end.
