Seedlings and light

    Using 400 w HID lights

    Seedlings just popped thru soil

    Have just put them under the lights 18 on 6 off

    How far away from lights should these small seedlings be ?? Currently 36 inches away first few hours in .

    See how they react. I use a 400hps for veg and flower. If they look like they want to stretch drop the light 6 inches. Then another 6 inches in a few days etc until you find the sweetspot

    IF you have an adjustable ballast, go to 12 in above and simply cut it back to 50% then bump it to 75 after another node pops up. And drop/maintain 10"

    Punch, why use hps for both stages? Can your ballast take a MH? You should be switching if possible.

    Yes it is switchable. I dont like the mh spectrum for my plants. They veg nice under the hps so i dont use the mh ever.
