Seed ?

  1. So I started germinating some seeds. One has a nice taproot and most are opening up. But I have two seeds that opened up but now the seed has turned black. Does this mean these 2 are most likely no good?

  2. on the ones that have opened up do you mean the new plant growth is black (root, cotyledons), or the seed pod is black? If there is a root it can be transplanted, sounds like a small operation its worth a try id say. The outer layer is just a protective pod and if it gets moist or enzymatically dissolved by the growing plant it could change color, but it is not essential to plant growth.
