RSO for Neuralgia?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by bommer09, Nov 23, 2014.

  1. So I hate to even be posting this but I'm afraid I might have a serious condition known as pudendal neuralgia. Basically it always feels like I'm sitting on something and I'm having difficulty defecating and sometimes urinating, with practically no erectile function either. Needless to say I'm freaked out. Doctor just gave me some antiobiotics for prostatitis (even though prostate exam did not really reveal anything unusual). I've only been on the meds for 1 day so maybe they'll work.

But I'm kind of worried they won't, and if that's the case I need to pursue other forms of treatment. Luckily if I have this condition my case is mild. Others have extreme pain and discomfort and can't perform basic tasks sometimes.

So, I was wondering about the Rick Simpson Oil. I've done some googling and haven't seen much information on using it to treat this condition or Chronic Prostatitis which seems very similar and overlaps.

I figure if it's claimed as a cure-all for cancer and people with MS and other disorders have started using it with great success, then perhaps it could cure or at least improve whatever's going on with me, especially since it's so mild.

I'm just starting out on this research, and hopefully it won't be necessary, but I do have access to about a gram or so of RSO and am looking for more information from people who have used it for similar conditions. So, if you have any information on whether you think this would work or help, please let me know.

  2. I say yes.

Antioxidant therapy has been used/studied for the treatment of neuralgia/neuropathy.

Search for phrases such as "oxidative stress" "antioxidant therapy" "neuralgia" (or neuropathy) together to find more.

Cannabis is a potent antioxidant, making it a potential for people who need antioxidant therapy.

On a different note, THC was found more effective than opiates at pain-relief.

Both are important - pain relief, and the antioxidant therapy that may reduce the oxidative stress/inflammatory damage that is causing your pain in the first place.

Understandably , depending on the cause, such as injury to nerves, "treatment" may be reserved to treating the symptoms and not the cause. I don't want to sell you false hopes.

But I will say, a richly potent whole-plant cannabis extraction - such as RSO - may offer as much antioxidant therapy and pain relief as anything else. Potentially in a safer, less expensive and cheaper form compared to costly drugs/surgeries.

  3. Thanks for your response! I'm now thinking I just have a hernia hopefully, but may use RSO anyway. Thanks again for the informative post.

  4. Now based on more research (still waiting for second Dr. Appointment) I think I have or have triggered chronic nonbacterial or bacterial prostatitis. The reason I think non bacterial is one of the symptoms that I have, embarrassingly enough, is decreased ejaculate volume. Like way less.

It seems like my prostate is inflamed, even tho prostate exam was mostly normal.

I'm on antibiotics, but if it doesn't go away in a week I'll be trying the oil.

  5. If anyone has any information on rick simpson oil being used to treat this let me know.
