Roots of dead plant in nft

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by ukdingle, Aug 14, 2011.

  1. Hi guys.. I had 2 plans in 1 nft tray and one turn out male so I removed him.
But I can't remove it's roots as it's entangled In the spreader matt and don't want to harm the females roots..
Will these roots harm my existing plant.
If so what can I do to resolve this?

  2. Keep the roots in they won't harm your plants. There is good bacteria on the roots that can find another root thats growing.

Enzymes eat up dead roots. Look up some Hygrozyme. Might help over time, and keep that material from rotting. Not sure how many roots you are talking about though.

  4. Thanks for the feedback guys..there are quite alot of roots there I'll upload a pic if it helps.. But it will have to be tomorro as there sleeping at the moment :)
