Ron Paul Driving GOP White House Campaign

Discussion in 'Politics' started by aaronman, May 9, 2011.

  1. Just goes to show: there are blind kool-aid drinking supporters on both sides of the aisle (Obama and Paul).

  2. Explain, I don't think anyone would kill themselves over RP on this site.

  3. Really? Would anyone really kill themselves over Obama? Is that the assertion you're really trying to make?

  4. Keep the limecat alive! Take America off this artificial life support system! We think we can shelter, feed, and educate every living American yet we still have dumb, homeless, hungry people that eat your garbage for dinner! Obama has done a good job acting and playing the role of president, now it's time for somebody who knows what a president should be to take the plate.

  5. this means: i'm not listening, i'm not listening, i'm not listening....(with fingers in ears of course)

  6. I'm not the one calling people Kool-aid drinkers, so no.

  7. or call someone an asshole..

  8. I like it better when you start threads where the OP is copy-pasted from a blog and you never credit the blog. There was another member who did that quite often. He hasn't been here in awhile though. I wonder what happened...

How intellectually honest of you. Can't imagine why you're not making any friends here. Look how friendly and open-minded you're being!

  9. No not really. Its just that these people are easier to read than a cheap comic book.
Their mantra is always the same...Ron Paul is god. There are no other gods but Ron Paul. Ron Paul is our savior. Ron Paul can fix everything. Their dribble just goes on and on.
The funny thing is this....if Ron Paul ever got elected to President, they would hate him in a minute when they realized that RP fucked up their socialist world. And then you would hear the sound of their heads exploding all across america.

  11. Ron Paul has numerous powerful enemies many of whom are outside the borders of this country.

Ron Paul is the only anti globalism candidate that I know of, which is why so many are working so hard to stop him.

We had better give this guy our support.

Government regulation is exploited and lobbied for by big business to stifle competition. For example, Big Pharma lobbies the government to block generics from being sold in this country. If consumers could buy generics we would be suffering a lot less. Regulatory capture.

Ron Paul actually supports corporate income tax as it is constitutional. What he would probably do is seek to lower them so that we do not have the highest tax rate in the world, making us better able to compete for companies to invest and bring us jobs.

His idealistic visions aren't possible without congress though. In theory he wants no entitlement programs, but he has said numerous times that there would have to be a transition period by which we wean ourselves off the welfare state... and that could only happen with congress, and therefore the people's approval. Our current system isn't sustainable so it's not like we have a choice but to change it.

To someone who doesn't understand economics maybe... but borrowing and printing money to bailout and subsidize the rich hurts the poor the most.

Income disparity would immediately be reduced under a Ron Paul president because the government wouldn't be soaking the rich with senseless contracts and bailouts. If the dopes on Wall Street that gambled on the backs of taxpayers went bankrupt that would be a good lesson in risk taking.

Again, he wouldn't be able to do this without a long transition process and the approval of the people. What's more likely is we reduce entitlements so that we can provide them for everyone without bankrupting future generations.

And there's nothing stopping the individual states from providing services, like they do in Europe.

FDR is regarded by statists as one of the greatest statists of all time. Only keynesians agree with his ideology, and only keynesians get prominence in statist dominated academia.

All the positive rights FDR provided have distorted the market and created a system that rewards failure. They are feel-good policies with adverse economic consequences which we are seeing today in our insolvent entitlement programs. Where's the SS fund? lol.

The free market would weaken the corporate class because they would have no power over consumers.

It was Clinton who repealed Glass-Steagal in 1999.

The only reason Glass-Steagal was necessary is because we don't have a free market where banks operate at their own risk. There is a lender of last resort known as the Federal Reserve, and they took away their risk-preventative measures but left in their moral hazard.

So it's actually over-regulation that caused the crisis.

The past three decades have had the most government regulations in history, the government has only expanded since FDR and spending has never been reduced.

Income disparity is a problem, but not to be blamed on the free market.

"It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a ‘dismal science.’ But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance."

You've obviously studied economics at the School of Daily Kos, so when you decide to look into our past objectively and see that it is corporatism that is to blame you will see why Ron Paul is a better choice than a corporatist like Obama.

Free market fundamentalism wouldn't become the new religion of politics, but Paul would provide a good counterbalance to the shitty system we have now and pave the way for a sensible compromise.

  14. My thoughts exactly..

God forbid we get some of our rights and freedoms back... or do not have a big governemnt to tell us what to do and how to live...

Our government has proven itself to be very efficient at handling our money...

  15. "under the current system; the justly rich are being looted, the unjustly rich get richer and the poor get poorer"

    -someone..

  16. Man if he becomes president and part of his foreign policy is to stay out of israels affairs, perhaps we wouldn't have to worry about terrorist attacks in america

  17. Dumb people need to stay out of politics and work small jobs, and never pollute future generations with their nitpicky/idiotic/culture-washed bullshit.

I'm constantly in shock and awe as to how many people refuse to push aside their temporary comfort for a greater knowledge of truth that in turn leads to true freedom and the protection of our liberty.

It's sad, sure, as species we're young in our evolutionary stage, but it's like come on people, wake the fuck up and leave your ego at the door... the world is changing fast and it's not gonna wait for all the dumbasses to play "catch up"

Either get with the program (Ron Paul for a start) -- for a better life, a better world... or get left behind forever.

The other day my buddy's girlfriend was arguing that a vote for Ron Paul is one less vote for the Democratic party... I wanted to yell, "Stupid bitch! I don't care what party they're for! As long as they make logical sense (Ron Paul), I'll vote for them!"

I'm all for believing what you want (what happens after death, the universe, shit like that)... but when stupid dumb shit comes out of your mouth, you're not only harming those around you, but you're destroying your own self worth!

"Oh, Ron Paul, we don't have time for a history lesson!" -- YES WE FUCKING DO!
The reason Ron Paul talks so much about history, is because no one seems to care about it. He's proving that history will repeat itself if we don't actually change the WAY WE LOOK AT THINGS. Anyone remember Nazi Germany?

I'm Patriotic for supporting radical changes -- not for refusing it.

  18. dumb people shouldn't be allowed to vote..

but that's a whole different story..

  19. now AW that is just plain old crazy talk...if dumb people didn't vote there would be no billion dollar popularity contest every 2-4 years and elections would be between people who actually know WTF they were doing and saying :D
