Robin Williams Appreciation Thread

  1. Been watching old acts of his on comedy channel. No idea why but I just feel so sad, I never really grew up watching him but for some reason his death has hit home hard. Scary how happy some people can seem so happy but be dead on the inside.

Not even going to say rest in peace, he's fucking shit up wherever he is.

  2. Yea I agree he was an amazing actor. He had a battle with addiction and was sober for like 30 years before he relapse. I seen him as an inspiration for me and will always be missed and remembered as a legend

This hit me right in my black heart.

  4. R.W. was a huge part of my childhood. I loved and still love so many of his films. Hook, Patch Adams, Good Will Hunting, Flubber, Fern Gully, One Hour Photo. The movie that always resonated with me was Mrs. Doubtfire. Yes that movie is hilarious (it was a run by fruiting!) but more than that it was a movie that helped me cope with my parent's divorce and with not having my Dad around as much as I needed and wanted. Even though he might not be with me all the time that didn't mean he wasn't thinking about me and wanting to be there.

"But if there's love, dear... those are the ties that bind, and you'll have a family in your heart, forever. All my love to you, poppet, you're going to be all right... bye-bye."

  5. This is one of my fav robin williams skits. It shows how quick witted he was. He can rattle off one liners from the top of his head and have people rollin in the aisles. This is his USO skit when they played revelry to lower the flag.
He also did something like this at his san francisco show when a lady left the show to go to the bathroom. He ad libbed off the top of his head and as always, he was halarious.

  7. Jumanji was the first movie I seen him in as a kid. I would've love to see him in Mrs. Doubtfire 2.

He's up there telling jokes to the Man upstairs now. R.I.P.
