ok so i know your supposed to water when the soil is decently dry but how do you know how much water to use. im at day 8 and my soil seems to be dry too much, so far i have already watered on 3 days so i know im not using enough but how much is enough? thanks
Enough to get runoff which you should be testing with your ph tester! Have you tried putting your finger about an inch into the soil? Sometimes the soil on top looks a lot dryer than the rest of the soil.
I'm sure you'll get used to it pretty quickly. You'll probably begin to get familiar with the weight of the plants.
The finger test is a good idea. You could also do the lift test meaning lift the plant, if it feels light, water. The idea is to let the soil dry out on top so the roots have to grow to get water at the bottom of the pot. That's why you water till run off, you're making sure the roots have water to grow to.
