Restore Student Financial Aid: Take Action Now

  1. Restore Student Financial Aid

Help students now! Representative Barney Frank (D-MA) has introduced H.R. 685, a bill with 40 co-sponsors that would repeal the provisions that prohibit students with drug convictions from receiving financial aid. In 1998 Congress passed amendments to the Higher Education Act (HEA) that delays or denies federal financial aid to anyone ever convicted of any drug offense. H.R. 685 sends a clear message: increasing access to education is an effective way to help students overcome their addiction and lead productive lives. Call and fax your Representative today! Ask him or her to support access to higher education and join the fight to pass H.R. 685!!
