Rep. Barney Frank-Defund the DEA

  1. Even though the bill didn't pass, we are coming closer to sensible policy.
Very good argument made by Mr. Frank.

75% of the democrats voted in favor, only 25% of republicans voted in favor.

  2. Well for some reason today these YouTube videos are having problems embedding, but I watched Barney's speech and he made the same strong points that we've been making for years. Put simply, there are too many people profitting and being employed by the business of the drug war, and marijuana is their bread and butter.

Those who use marijuana do not have anywhere near the kind of money that the pharmaceutical and law enforcement/prison industries have for a substantial lobbying effort. The only way it is going to happen is by popular vote in democratic elections, just as we have seen in place like California and Colorado with the Medicinal Marijuana Laws that have paved the way for a large population of thriving small businesses.

If you think about it, that scenario of legislation enacted by popular vote leading to a large population of thriving small businesses is the ultimate threat to corporate authority across the board in all industries. Hmmmm....:D

  3. ugh...the Republicans in Congress are so fake...a real Republican would be all over this bill...it cuts spending and brings sovereignty back to the states - the two basic ideals of the Republican platform.

  4. what kind of backwards ass logic is this?
    listen to this joke

Sad thing is the first state that legalizes or decriminalizes marijuana for non medical use is going to get dropped on like a ton of bricks by the federal government....It will make the dispensary raids look like play time for kindergartners....People forget the Civil War was fought over the right of self determination for southern states, The slave angle while a tragic situation was just a small match in a very big fire...a side show and political spin for Lincoln really...

  7. That's literally the one intelligent thing he has ever said, other than his stance on the Drug War/DEA he is just another member of the status quo.

  8. omg that's the same guy from the Jesse Ventura video....skip to 39:15 and watch this interview with Steven Cohen..it's scary as fuck !!

  9. If anything I'd say the Democratic party has been the party of limited federal government and constitutionalism, not the Republicans.

First Democratic president - Andrew Jackson - only president to ever pay the national debt.

First Republican president - Abraham Lincoln - Basically set the entire future statist course of our country, permanently establishing the federal government as supreme ruler of the states.

In the last 100 years, however, the parties have converged and become one.
