Recording Music from online radio to CD

Discussion in 'Silicon (v)Alley' started by Fraser264, Dec 26, 2012.

  1. I am looking to record online radio tunes onto CDs for listening. Also am interested in recording videos I have seen online. What do I need to do before I am able to do this? Have a new computer so I am still not familiar with how to do this after reading info from their site. Anyone ever do this and if so is it possible?

  2. I don't think you can go from streaming directly to CD, but you can record the stream to your hard drive, then burn it to CD. I use a program called "Freecorder" to capture the audio stream.

There are a lot of video recorders too. "Freecorder" ^ ^ will also record video but is somewhat limited.

The latest video recorder I've been using is an add-on to the Firefox browser and is more versatile than any of the other ones I've used. (I've never paid for any of them). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/963217/?src=api

  3. Thanks Fizzly.
Next question, is it easy to record onto your hard drive then transfer to cd via freecorder? Real new to this but I have burned CDs from ITunes before so there are a few brain cells left for simple functions!!

  4. I don't remember if you can use Freecorder to burn CDs, but I don't think so.

There are all kinds of (free) burners available though. I think Windows even comes with one although I've never used it.

Also, you can burn DVDs from downloaded videos if that interests you. I use (free) Sothink DVD Creator, Burn DVD, Any Video to DVD
