    Just about everything that can be purchased, apart from food, water, clothing, and shelter, could be construed as a "waste of money". Do you own a television? Do you own a cellphone? Why, you don't need it to survive. Waste of money if you ask me. Anything that brings the buyer positive emotions is, in my opinion, not a waste of money. In the face of bland corporatism and mindless consumerism, custom blown pieces of functional art are one of the more noble ways to spend your cash. The artist is investing a lot of time and energy into making a piece, and you give him money so that you can appreciate the piece, which in turn allows him to pay the bills and buy more resources for future glass projects. To Rattlesnake Bob, your glass collection and nug/ nug derivatives are supreme.

    i have 1 tv, not 4. 1 tv serves the purpose of entertaining me when i have nothing else to do. 3 spares would be a waste  of money. my cellphone i have for communication.
