rabbit manure, alfalfa cubes and perlite!

  1. so i got reading and found out rabbit manure is great for growing! i read that you can grow useing just rabbit manure and perlite, i was thinking of adding alfalfa cubes as well and watering with 2 table spoons of molasses in a gallon of water! i was wondering what would be a good ratio to mix the rabbit manure perlite and alfalfa cubes.
any suggestions! i heard 4 gallons rabbit manure and 2 gallons perlite, just not sure on the alfalfa cubes!
i used to raise rabbits up untill a few months ago, i had a hundred rabbits so i have an unlimited amount of nice manure!
    thanks!

  2. You might want to compost that manure with some yard/kitchen waste for at least a year.

  3. yeah its been composted for over a year, i raised rabbits for a long time and recently got out of it! any suggestions on the mixture ratio!

  4. HazeHead, In all honesty I feel your mix should incorporate some coir, peat, or native soil. Even composted manure can be too hot for your plants if there is too much. Alfalfa is also a rather fast degrading nitrogen source. If you want to use what you have at hand then I would suggest:
    2 parts native topsoil
    1 part manure/alfalfa cube
    1 part perlite

mix all that up and check that it drains well. If not add more perlite until it does.

  5. hazehead,i personally have seen it done but not with cannabis,i tried a few yrs back(bored) my plant made it up to a foot and a half, then turned rusty brown and died within 24 hrs.Voodoom has it right im imo:cool::smoke:also not a fan of perlite..lava rock all the way

  6. All that rabbit shit and you don't have worm bins?

Usually rabbit producers also do worms.

    Wet

  7. ok thanks for the info! no i didnt get into worms! also i am looking for 30% run off right?
thanks i also baought blood meal and will add bone meal for flowering!

  8. Haze, Id skip the bloodmeal the manure and alfalfa have you covered for nitrogen. the bonemeal can be added to the mix to give it more time to break down and you can topdress and scatch in half cup per mature plant towards the end of veg.

  9. Hazehead, I'm sounding redundant here, but that's a hella lotta manure. You're plants would be much happier if you added a gallon or so to every 10 gallons of grow mix. I've heard that rabbit manure makes great poo stew though, and that's another great way to utilize that resource.

  10. Snag some kelp meal to round everything out. IMO it's a *must have*

With all that worm poo, ~$25 for a lb of red wigglers and you would really be dancing with EWC and vermicompost. The other black gold!

  11. I second the worm bin idea! At least give it a go in the future. You already have one of the best foodstocks available for worms. It will produce some truly fine castings and you will have a new hobby !!

  12. well i planted the first seed today i have 11 seed so i started with one just to see how my mixture will do! i mixed 2 gallons of poo and one gallon of perlite, then i added a cup of blood meal stirred it all together and filled a little 4x4 inche peat moss pot added water till it started leaking out the bottom and then planted the seed a half inch below the surface, i have it 3ft away from a 400w mh. how long should i keep the light on for? 18/6 till flower time?
    thanks

  13. Haze, how dense are you?

  14. are you talking about the soil? i its pretty nice! i had 30 percent run off!

  15. Lmfao!!!!!!

  16. lmao what haha

  17. Haze you might as well have thrown that seed in the fire your gonna burn the shit out Of that taproot. You neglected to adhere to wise advice so pay the price.

    Voo

  18. well i am just trying it with one seed! if it works then i will do it with the rest, i googled alot of information on rabbit manure and it says it is a manure that can be used right away, other manures will burn it, i also read that a few guys only grow with straight rabbit manure and perlite, i figured it to be a nice exsperiment and if it works you could all have that information, didnt exspect to get thrown under the bus just for trying something new. but i do take all the information you guys give and if this does not work i will have the other seeds to start over. thats all
    thanks

  19. haze head right on way to join the GC and i've heard compost is a great way to supercharge your plants growth. Be sure to check back and post some pics to us porn-dogs . plant porn that is.

  20. as for the rabbit manure. how long was it sitting fallow before you decided to use it for an indoor garden?
