I think you'll be bringing about a higher risk of something burning, just the string of you are lucky. I'm assuming that when youth say it will be in direct contract you man the glass/ glowing part of CFL, if it's just the plastic bar, you should be good. I don't think that will work yarn might burn and cause a fire or cut through and make it fall I would try maybe picking up the plant if your trying to get it closer..
