Questions about my seedlings

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Yourcrazymom, May 9, 2016.

  1. I just started growing recently and i found one of my baby's with a yellow spot on each leaf. I've attached a picture to show what i mean. Am i giving them too much light?

  2. to know if they are getting too much light we need to know the lights ya use

  3. I wanna sassy a 60w cfl bulb. I was told i could use these for a short time since there has been no sunlight here with all the rain.

  4. maybe grow one for a wee bit with that light but you will need alot more light. also i wouldnt grow more than one plant in a pot

  5. I plan to transfer them. I just wanted to get them started. Them seem to be thriving otherwise. They all look pretty happy, stand tall and a pretty green except the one. I have 15 total. The light seems to have worked in helping them grow. I keep them pretty close to the light to ensure warmth. These babies are only a week old. I'm just concerned about the one that has spots on the to round leaves. There are no spots on the serrated leaves though. I'm just a little confused about those spots.

  6. could be nute burn, what soil ya using, could be light starved, whats the temps like

  7. The temps stay around 80°f. The soil i use is miracle grow natural organic potting soil.

  8. Can't see anything in the pic and need more details about your setup.

  9. they are just marks on the first leaves the cotyledons(round leaves) ,,,the first real leaves((the jagged ones) look like they are growing fine ,reckon seedling is ok ...mac

  10. Best thing I found when there little babies like this is to just letem do their thing, keep em misted and walk away, I used to get all crazy about every little thing, and I would always end up trying to fix problems that weren't there, killed and stunted probly 1000$ worth of genetics, as long as the rest of them are thriving I'd say ur ok, people will say not to use miracle grow (I don't know if it's because it's subpar quality soil or if it's because it's owned by Monsanto which is a pretty terrible company all in all) but I grew with it outdoor for years back in the 90s and grew some wonderful wonderful plants, and ya already know to get them babies into their own pots ASAP as you don't want to get root tangle
What's ur set up, space ventilation, lights , plan for veg and flower etc?

  11. Take a picture in a better lit location (natural light). I can't tell if your seedlings are really yellow or it's from the lightbulb/camera flash. Miracle gro is usually the culprit of all sorts of problems. At this stage your seedlings don't take up much water at all, so water lightly and give them about 7 days between watering.

  15. My setup is just plain ole outdoor. Lots of sunlight, water and plant food. Any other suggestions to help with them? I'm all ears. They are starting to smell also.
