Can someone just explain this simply to me. If I watch an American TV channel, the advert will say something like 'catch all new XYZ show on FOX at 8/9c' What does 8/9 central mean? I think I'm just really stoned. In ireland, 95% of my tv channels are british.. but they're in the same timezone as me. So if something is on BBC1 at 8pm.. I'll watch it at 8pm. But this whole 8/9 central stuff has gotten me verrrry confused. How can a 'primetime' be from 8pm - 11pm, if everyone lives in a different time zone? Do people on the west coast need to watch TV earlier then people on the east coast? Shits confusing.
We have different time zones. So say new York is 3 hours difference, people in NY have to stay up very late to watch show in Cali (like live shows). Sorry I made this confusing
The shows play at the same time across the country but its at different times for different people. EST is like the "default" time so its like 8 pm (7pm central). Don't know if they say anything different over in California or not, that always seemed weird to me.
usually they show shows in pacific time at the same time as eastern. like say if a shows on at 8 eastern they'll show it 3 hours later on the west coast when its 8:00 there but for central time zone it'll be on at 7:00.
