Question About Legalization

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by meridian6, Nov 15, 2012.

  1. So with America having 14 states with weed decriminalized, wouldn't we just need 12 more for it to be decriminalized Federally?

How is the government going to keep it criminalized if more than 50% of the states have it decriminalized?

  2. Actually we have 18 states plus DC.

And you're right, when we hit 25 we have a majority. While the federal government isn't bound to suddenly change federal law when we get a majority, the members of Congress are voted into power by people in the states, and when a majority of the states have legalized marijuana it sends Congress a message that they'd better damn well catch up or they're going to be unemployed.
