My HLG100 gets around that hot, even hotter sometimes, doesn't need a heatsink according to HLG. Hasn't fried out yet. I can't dial it down either, all or nothing. Fans blowing on it will help. But for the relatively low cost, and the comfort of knowing it helps dissipate the heat better and may prolong lamp life, then it might be best to go for it.
