Your friend does not have a Pyrology tube, I'm sorry to say. They don't work with honeycombs as far as I know and if they did, they certainly wouldn't be 100 bucks.

Glass doesn't really lose value, if the person has taken care of it, no combustion stains and its got the name to back it up. You can get some good deals, but don't expect people to lop huge sums off their rigs, if they're in pristine condition.
