Purple haze clones under 400w hps

i aquired these clones from a friend that had no room for them. they stood outside of his light foot print and werent doin so hot. they also had just bombed for spider mites in the veg room, but these guys still had some stow aways on em. heres the spec of this grow.

strain: purple haze (original mother came from a club in san diego)
in soil using premire pro mix with michorise
ph 6.3
had spider mite damage and young mites still on em and choked of light on arrival
started nursing them in a converted armoir closet then transfered them to a bigger DIY tent. roughly 3.5'X2.5'X8'
225cfm squirel cage fan
400W hps (cheapo sylvania standard bulb)
nutes so far have been hollands secret bada bing and bada bang with a drop or two of molasses.

treated the mite problem using three drops of burts bees baby shampoo in 16 oz of water and sprayed the shit out of em every two days. 3 sprays and no mites (knock on wood)

i got a nikon 12mp so ill be posting lots of pics of this grow. lemme know what yall think. as of this posting ive had them only 8 days

day 9 i thought id take a pic of the girls with the flash while still in the dark. this is so i dont have the yellowish orange tint to everything, and you can see the leaves that are burned and scared from the mites.
i watered them last night with 2qts each of plain, oxygenated water with a ph of 6.3. basically stopped the nute burn in its tracts, added some dissolved O2 to the soil and corrected the ph shift it was being shocked with. i went a little to far down the last feeding. however when i did feed them i made 1 gallon of solution and one plant was dryer than the other so it was pretty much split 2/3-1/3. i labeled them in the pic. you can really tell the difference lol

i did some super croping last night as well i pinched out about 6 shoots. so those all will split in two. it usually takes a day or so to recover and start regenerating when you do that to them. so dont be surprised if the pic looks just like day 8 ha ha ill check back in just before and right after i go to FL. ill be cutting clones then.

 

Well got back last night from Tampa. and wow what bushes theyve become. i took 8 cuttings and dipped them in clonex gel early this morning. im posting this as a thread bump cuz im at work on my phone. but ill be posting a few pics this evening so keep your eye out

 

these pictures are (in order) the night i came home on sunday day 17, the clones i cut monday morning, and each plant right after i cut the clones. i gave them plain water with a ph of 6.7-6.8. they didnt seem to respond well with the 6.3 so i figured the soil must have been low when i got them. and what a difference it made. before i left i prepared two gallon jugs of water ph 6.7 and added only 2ml of the micro mute bada bang. told the ol lady to water em friday night at midnight when the lights turn on.

 

alright so i aquired some seriouse weopons against these spidermites that have broke through my first few waves of soap. i came back from florida to see webs here and there and more scaring on the new growth. i bought azamax made by general hydroponics. now i hate GH but for the pest control ill go for it just not the nutes. this stuff is to stop the mites from eating and reproducing, its also toxic so itll kill some too but its a 7-14 day treatment.. i have about 12-14 days to treat them.
The guy at the hydro shop was nice enough to give me a free jar sample of some locally made stuff thats all natural. its made by a new company called laughing green tomato. the solution is called atomic green spidermite eradicator. it has a ton of good shit in it and very well concentrated. i sprayed them 3 hrs before these pics before the lights came on and the mites looked like splatter marks and were falling off whit just a flick of the leaf. im impressed. ill treat em again in 3 days then give them the azamax just before flowers start showing. enjoy the new pics day 4 of 12/12

 

so the atomic green worked great so far. mites are falling off the leaves. i grabbed some pics of the garden i got the clones from. enjoy the bud porn.

 

So i had a problem with my circuit breakin if im on my xbox when the light turns on so i installed a new plug hooked to its own breaker switch. i also mixed the first dose of blooming nutrients. im pairing up roots organics trinity with age old bloom 5-10-5 i will be adding gravity and cha-ching later on in the cycle but for now those two should do well. more pics to come

 

after i gave them the trinity plus the age old bloom they started reachin for the sky. shit is good and fast acting. i made a dense mix of root hormones and a few drops of trinity in about 30ML of water at ph 6.4. i took the mix and used a dropper to give each clone 3ml each right down into theyre new roots. havent seen any roots yet but they are using up the nitrogen from the lowest leaves as energy to form roots so anyday now. ive already leeched small pots of roots organics soil for transplanting.

thanks bro its been a while since i got to enjoy the feeling of smokin my own nugs. wont be long now. unfortunately all the clones i took died and didnt even try to root so after back trackin my steps i decided to grab 4 more cuts and try again. this time in some soil and i took better cuts this time around so ill be nursing these and see what happends

 

well the first 8 clones were a complete disaster so i took 4 more and tried them in a different set up its been 5 days now and so far all is well. i placed them in leeched soil and in the hole i put them into i dropped a glob of rooting hormone in addition to dipping them. humidity is on and so is themp so well see if we gett new growth soon.

as far the big girls they are doing wonderfully. i gave them a watering of just trinity 4 days ago and tonight gave them a little bit more age old with just a tad less of trinity. bud sites are developing very well its officiallly day 2 of flwring only 63-68 more to go. im estimating an april harvest.

i put some of my daughters mothers ashes into the soil so hopefully ill be able to smoke by april 18th the one year mark since her passing. RIP carrie these are for you girl.

 

so its day 9 and already got tirchomes starting to form. i really like what the trinity is doing. i gave the 10gl bucket 2 gallons of solution with just trinity in it this last feeding and 1.5 gallons to the other one. they both have come a long way, just a moth ago they were crawling with mites choked off light and lookin like twigs now look at em.

 

Well theyre still looking great but i had noticed over the last week some of the canopy leaves curling and twisting. makes me suspicious of the ph in the soil. so i did an experiment. im used to nutes that are ph buffered and dont effect the overall solutions ph so ive always done my adjustments first then add nutes and were good. however the age old isnt buffered so i tested after adjusting and mixing. what i found was scary ha ha. even if i lower the ph down to 5.0 adding the age old jumped it up to 8.0 and made it hard to drop back down. so i mixed the solution first and then adjusted it so i am confident that its 6.0 on the dot now. another lessoned learned. always double check the ph after adding nutes.

so i guess nobody gives 2 shits about my thread this time around ha ha. last posting was a longtime ago with a ghetto ass cfl set up and i got made feedback. this time doin some real shit and no love c' mon ha ha its all good tho

 

so theyve been doing very well since my last run in with the ph issue. last night i gave them plain water at 6.0 just to flush out any residues and lower the overall ph of everything. theyre just covered on trichs allready and smellin like heaven. still many days left to go. i was also fortunate enough to aquire a free 250w hps sun systems balast lamp combo that i put on the floor at a 45 angle so that bottom gets some fill too. well see how well it does and decide if i should just raise it up and tilt it instead. enjoy the new pics.

 

Well i went to hydro shop on my lunch break today and got 2 10'X10' sheets of panda plastic, a bottle of GH flora blend booster and a bottle of gravity. next feeding will have the age old, trinity, and the flora blend. ill hold this schedule for another 2 weeks then ill flush again with plain water before raising the age old and adding the gravity. the gavity is some crazy good shit. ive watched strong plants fall over from the weight after just a week of using it.

 

a very good decision bro. i have a sun systems 10 magnetic ballast and a wing style hood. i would suggest that you invest the extra coin in a digital ballast. they produce more lumens have better filament arching cause less flutter and theyre way more efficient on energy. not to mention that some of them run both MH and HPS bulbs on the same unit. i aquired my set up on a friend needin cash to catch a train out so i got a bunch of shit for just 80 bucks and the 250 was free from my soon to be patient.
