So, I really liked the old Toro chubbler and I'm partial to vertically oriented ash catchers, so I came up with a new design for an ash catcher that sits directly above the joint. The design is also made so that the weight distribution is closer to the center of the tube, helping prevent tipping. I'm thinking the total height can be kept under 6", preferably around 5. The idea is to use only a splash of water and have a shallow column of bubbles. Inverted showerhead are very economical in terms of space versus flow.
