  1. Hello,
I'm in the midst of my first grow.
I have one plant out of the lot showing some sick fan leaves.
The lowest fan leaves are the worst.
the top looks fine I think.

    Is this a Mag def?
same nutes for whole crop, why would one plant show this?
    here are some pics:

ph 6.0ish (waiting on digital meter, I have a 8.0-6.0 chem test that reads 6.0 and another chem test kit that just has colors to match for 5orange, 6yellow, 7green etc. shows 6.0 there.)

ppm was @ 800, but my cheap POS chinese meter died after a few weeks!
but thats where it was after last change.

    here are the pics:
(first post with pics, I hope they show up ok)

  2. Howdy! That looks like a calcium def to me, it could be locked out due to low ph. It's a bitch to stop once it starts, your affected leaves will start to yellow and die here soon, and it will spread to other leaves.

Best thing to do is add some garden lime to your soil and work it in the top at 1 tbsp per gallon of soil. This supplies calcium and keeps the ph from going too low. The powdered version works faster that the pelletized lime.

    Good luck!

  3. Ah sorry, I just saw you're not in soil. Actually in hydro you'll probably need to lower your ph some, looks like it's locking out. 5.8 is where you want it, especially if using RO or purified water - it strips out the calcium from the water.
