How the fuck does this GPA stuff work in America? We have 1sts (1:1s), 2nds (2:1s and 2:2s) and Thirds here. 70%, 60%, 50% and 40% respectively. I think we specialise more here in our degrees. Could be wrong though. Just had a quick look, apparently a 3.5 is equivalent to a 2:1 and a 3.8 is equivalent to a 1:1. No scores for me yet, I'm off there next year.
A=3.7-4.0 90%+ B=3.0 80%+ C=2.0 70-75%+ etc.. although grading scales differ, it's always based on that model your system sounds really confusing lol
Well...after my third semester in school, I had a 0.069 GPA. Yes, that "0" is suppose to be there. I'm happy to say that I finally graduated with a 3.53 gpa. Cum Laude biatches.
Cheers, gotya. If you were gettin A's before uni here and then doing well while at Uni you'd be on for a 1st, which would require the 70% score. I don't understand why we change our scoring system for Uni really, we score with As, Bs etc up until then. And looking at how many classes some people seem to sign up for in this thread, I'd say we do seem to specialise more here. My degree will only include classes on Economics, Politics and International relations. Makes sense since it's an International Studies with Economics degree.
Advance Placement and International Baccalaureate give higher GPA points because they are suppose to be harder. I can post my transcript, im not bullshittin A 6 B 5 C 4 D 3 F 0
Psh, semesters... 1st quarter: 3.43 2nd quarter: 3.13 3rd quarter: 3.56 (at the least, messed up in chem, but it'll more likely be 3.67) 3rd quarter ends in a month.
Word, I went to an all IB school which was super hell times 20 billion.... But I had like a 3.34 GPA cumulative, recalculated it was a 3.93 for most places, 3.81 for upper level places. Settled on a fun place with good academics (Mich State U, Spartanssss)
Sigh, did terrrrrrible this semester. Will probably end up with a 1.5 or something. I know, horrible. I had a lot of issues that I had to deal with this semester. I went from like a 2.8 last semester to mostly failing. Just glad the year is over though, going to bust my ass when school starts up again.
2.93 lowest I've ever had thanks to 2nd semester organic chemistry fuck that class. Only C I'll ever get in college. Cumulative GPA over 2 years is a 3.27 I'll raise that shit next semester/year. Ugh bio major.
im at a solid 2.5 total now. I got an A in sociology, C in american government, and a D in liberal arts math
