Mix well together 1 tsp. of tea tree essential oil and 1 tsp. of liquid castile soap with one gallon water. Spray the mixture on the topsoil and plants to get rid of mold. Tea tree oil is obtained by steaming the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia. The oil is used for its antiseptic qualities and prevents and treats infections. Castile soap is made exclusively with olive oil and has a number of uses around the house. Both ingredients can be bought online or at local drugstores.

  2. You need to change the climate in your room or it will just keep coming back. Powdery mildew is caused by hi humility and cool temps. Get a fan blowing gently across the tops of the pots and reduce the humidity.

If you rase the temps to 90+ over a few days it may kill it if you reduce the moisture in the air.

You can make a solution of 1 part milk to 9 parts water. Mix and spray on the effective areas. There is an en-zine in the milk that kills it. Don't use skim or chocolate.
