Think on this for a moment , that everything we learned about creationism and evolution was wrong. What if many years ago some life forms that resembled human beings who had destroyed their race with technology and tolerance came here and planted the seed to try and raise a more pure form of themselves so they could harvest at some future point once we evolve to the point prior to their downfall. Once this point is reached, and they would know this by our transmissions and their regular trips here, they return to harvest their crop and recover the genes and nutrients that they lack due to their evolution. This would put us in the realm of being in a petrie dish where we are the experiment, and not the opposite.
what if I tell you that pretty much all of it can be possibly forged and we're nothing but simple AI entities plugged into a simulation by aliens or advanced future civilizations? Or simply some lab rats for their DNA experiment(google "Junk DNA and you'll see what I'm talking about) and all this religions and stuff are nothing but some hoax?(google Astro-theology too) "Nothing is true; Everything is permitted"
Best to not pay too much mind to what ifs, although fun to ponder if you enjoy such, there is much to experience here in our surroundings, even if it is artificial, either through technological means, in the end anyways even if we were just a simulation as @yazdan noticed it is our reality.
