Pornography

  1. Degrades women, and demeans human relationships

  2. and is terribly addicting

  3. What about the degraded men participating? ;)

  4. in a way, but it is often not portrayed that the men are being degraded... yes it is hurting the men participating, and hurting the men watching... but the perception is that they are doing what you want to be doing... or you wouldn't be watching.

Although yes... in actuality it is degrading them.

but it sexual promiscuity makes it very difficult to have real relationships

  5. Speaking for myself here all I can say is my porn watching times had their highs in my upper 10's into my 20's, no computers back then, just some magazines passed on many times.
Now, many years later, it's just "floating along" somewhere wayyyy back in line with much more fun things to do.

  6. cool man

  7. Is essential to maintaining sexual satisfaction amongst bachelors and reducing rape rates.

  8. i respect those who participate in taboos such as pornography because of the fact that they have transcended needless boundaries constructed by a moral society. so long as all participants and those who choose to view are doing so of their own volition, i don't see that anything is degrading about it. an experience is only degrading if you choose to make that your reality.

  9. Word. +rep

but are these boundaries truly needless? are morals really not important at all?
i am all for porn and jerking off , but could you say that it benefits us more than it harms us? personally i dont think i would be able to say that we are better off with porn than without it.
it is pretty much making us spend more time on bodily, "materialistic" appetites (i say appetites because jerking off is not a NEED, it is something you WANT to do. you can survive without it) rather than trying to engage us in some sort of a process that would make our mind and maybe even our so-called "soul" benefit. Instead of exercising our mind, we end up doing something that relates us more to animals. MAYBE to some degree, porn causes degradation rather than evolution?

edit: porn doesnt MAKE us jerk off... but it does help the process, doesnt it? lol

  11. or does it increase rape rates?

I'd be interested if there was a study done on this.

i'd only respect them if they were not getting paid, they didn't have a director, they were kind and considerate to one another, and were not just using sex as a way to either make money or escape from their sexual frustrations, bad childhood, or emotional stress.

  12. I've actually found that jerking off is easier once you don't get into porn... you concentrate on the feeling rather than the visual stimulus...

when you concentrate on the visual stimulus it always gets boring thus degrading and pushing the boundaries both of what you need to get off, and what you'd pay to see the women do, and possibly men, and cattle once you've 'seen it all'.

controlling your energy and focusing your mind is all very difficult when you have a lot of baggage tossed in there.

  13. so what about swingers? adults who consensually share themselves with a group of people for pleasure because they want to. is that degrading as well?

  14. this isn't an anti jerking off thread...

nor is it an anti sexuality thread...

  15. is it? I hate to paint all people with the same brush but the way I am made, I would find it hurtful to my self and my relationship to detach myself from my partner to the point where I would be a swinger...

but for those people who are in a relationship for pleasure, knock yourself out... and for those people that have lost that inhibition, cool.

Is the inhibition there because of society, or is it constructive... i think it's situational... I can't give you a straight answer.

    other than follow your heart.

  16. true, in that case i want to say that it is probably not beneficial for the body and mind, and we are better off without it.

i mean shit, at the end of the day you will actually try to find a man/woman/cattle?LOL to engage in a relationship with you rather tahn jerking off to a video of people having sex. think of all the 40-year-old-virgins out there that would be saved if there was no porn :p

  17. what?
    pornstars have it made
    doin that, its awesome
but id rather get paid to smoke weed all day
    and porn is awesome
actually i was about to watch porn but I decided
I would just smoke the rest of my weed
and am doing so and watchin walk hard bout to watch
pineapple express for the second timee

  18. I'm not a big fan of degrading women, but I'm a big fan of anything that gives you wood. Porn does that, so I'm going to keep watching it.

  19. It degrades women? Since when?

Seems to me like they're making a conscious choice to receive insane money for having fun. Its not like these ladies are being treated like crap.

Also, at least in my experience, porn can be very helpful to a relationship.

Watch it with your partner to help spice up a dull sex life?

To consider pornography degrading implies that it is inherently immoral, which is a matter of opinion.

  20. Anyone interested in the Taoist view that when you ejaculate, you lose a part of your life?

We can take this to extremes... I think porn is just there, and it represents liberty. Liberty doesn't always manifest itself in overtly beautiful ways but still the principle of it is as beautiful as unity.
