BREAKING: Pomona police serve search warrant at Second Street medical marijuana dispensary By Monica Rodriguez, Staff Writer Created: 12/08/2011 12:58:41 PM PST POMONA - Pomona police served a search warrant on an East Second Street medical marijuana dispensary shortly after 11 a.m. today. Police, including members of the department's Special Weapons and Tactics team, served the search warrant at the dispensary at 162 East Second St., said Assistant Chief Paul Capraro. Police began investigating the establishment about three weeks after the federal Drug Enforcement Administration was involved in serving a search warrant at another dispensary a short distance away on East First Street in October, Capraro said. Investigators secured a search warrant for the Second Street establishment and served it this morning, he said. "It doesn't appear this one had anywhere near the complexity of the other one," Capraro said. The dispensary on East First Street, Green Cross USA, was an elaborate operation that appeared to have a large number of customers. Police served the search warrant on East Second Street with the assistance of SWAT personnel based on several factors including the presence of security doors on the dispensary and armed security guard inside, Capraro said. The operation was non-confrontational and as of late Thursday morning no arrests had been reported.
