there may be different ideas of what is right or wrong and that should be respected. but there has to be a line. this is one topic where i think the line should be drawn at an age higher than 12, and also it says they gope to abolish an age compleatly. this would allow sexual relations with humans that are unable to consent, and physicaly not ready for sex. but as for 12 year olds- 1) a child who is 12 years old is very unlikly to be physically mature. Sex is an act of reproduction, which is not possible in most 12 year olds. Most 12 year old girls cannot become pregnant, which makes it not only an issue of morality, but makes it un-natural, as a 12 year olds body is not designed for sex yet. 2) children in todays society are much less mature than in previous centurys. marrige used to occur at an early age, but in children that did not have school and had been workers since the age of 5 or so. htey would be much more mature and not as influenced but adult figures(next point), and also most mariges of that age were to a person of a close age. not a 45yo man and a 12yo girl. 3)Adults have a large impact in todays society. Childern are taught to always respect, listen to, and take advice from adults. A child can easilly be manipulated into a sexual relation the he/she is not willing to be a part of. look at myspace and other situations where the child is willing but regrets it later. And although you can say this is rape and not willing, a child may conncent at 12, but their brain will likely be too underdeveloped to process this desicion of a loss of virginity before puberty, and when the child looks back on it when they are 18 they will probably regret it. i know it is long but it does have one problem in the argument, which also happens to be the same flaw as in yours. WE as a society determin what is right and wrong. A child will not feal bad about being raped if they are never taught that it is a bad thing. But children are the only true innocence in todays society and i belive that we need to maintain that because when we went from a child becoming an adult through marrige at the age of 12 or 13 to a child becoming an adult at the age of 18 we gained smarter more educated childern which have gone on to do great things. Allowing the consent of an individual who is not mentaly developed is depriving them of a true educated decision, and is a crime aggainst the future of our society as a whole. ^^ 1. first of all good points kleiny. 2. rape is rape, a child can still feel violated even if he is taught rape is the way of life. 3. your points are my points when i used argue against homosexuality adoptions. cuz the children are raised in an ("wrong" by my standards) environment that teaches them that gays are normal. which they arent. but they grow up thinking that they are natural, which they arent. 4. i agree with the age limit, but everyone develops at a different rate (some not at all) there would have to be a psychoanalysis of teh child to determine whether or not the child could participate. actually i think there should be psychoanalyses for partakers of all drugs, to let them know that they are predisposed to "flip out" if they take something.
From experience, little children are easy to convince that they're enjoying a forced sexual experience. I've been on the receiving end of that bullshit. So if an older man tells the 12 year old girl he's raping that it's because they love each other... and she doesn't know better? Hey, i'm no bigot or anything, but I like to hear all sides of the argument. Homosexuality. I have several gay friends. It's cool, I'm all about being happy and true to yourself. If that's what they're into then go for it. I harbor no hatred or discrimination. Consider the biological aspect of it. The primary goal for all life in existence is to procreate. To pass on one's genetic material, for the good of the species. Homosexuality fails this. This represents an abandonment of all biological purpose. You can throw all the religious and moral connitations at it as you want, but when it comes down to it, it's a very unsual and counter-active aspect of reproduction. It's hard looking at homosexuality logically, because it is still not clear what motivates this within the conciousness or subconcious. I personally wouldn't think it's a naturally occuring phenomenon. It wouldn't make sense. Of course to believe this, you have to believe in evolution. Every evolutionary aspect stems from either survival or procreation. Homosexuality serves neither purpose. It perpetuates the removal of genes from the species. So this is either A) some kind of evolutionary phenomenon. B) It's evolutionary purpose is to remove genes from the pool, which means evolution is beginning to phase humans out - but why? That's my two cents. Feel free to argue.

Thats a completely different thing all together. Victims of raper murder and torture do not concent to this. This issue is about about two concenting parties right to have sex, and while 12 year olds may not be fully able to understand sex, it cant even be compared to any of the things you said.
