What is the cause of this ? Genetics ? Environment? I’d like to know thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I used to grow an outdoor strain where the main stalk would "sweat" a golden resin that smelled incredibly like lemons and was completely different from the smell of the buds... Not sure if that's the same sort of thing that you've got going on there, or if you're just mostly referring to the trichomes making the buds look "wet"... but i would think that it's probably pretty normal and just part of the genetics. I noticed in my case that areas where the stalk was stressed, caused that area to "sweat" more of that lemony resin, so i always just assumed it was some form of self-protection... not the most scientific explanation! LOL Maybe someone else will have a different opinion on it.
Looks like you are referring to the trichomes. This is natural. You want this. This is where the THC is stored.
Thanks for the reply ! I could easily see it being caused from stress because the main colas like to flop around haha . But I could bet that I’ve got the same thing you did by the sound of it Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Look a little closer at the pic.. haha ! I know about the tricombs but look at that big blob of amber coloured resin ! Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I had exactly the same thing happen with my first grow after some research I was led to believe that it can happen from strain to strain. The residue was sticky amber little blobs no taste. It didn't affect the plant at all. im still not 100% what it even is but it was nothing to worry about maybe someone else around here can chime in. if i can dig up the old photos ill drop them in.
it's a sap tht the plnt produces sometimes. everything that I have read said it's not negative or positive it is just like plain tree sap. It contains no extra thc, at least that's what I read most places.
