Whats up guys, So here in about a month or so when I get my weed stimulus package from the government (tax return ) I am thinking hard on starting my own little grow! I am looking to spend around 500 bux on my grow op. I am currently scouring and beating the breaks off the search bar for lighting info and all that. So here is where I am at so far! Area/# of Plants: Going with a grow tent I think, a 3.5x3.5 ft. or a 4x4. I have pets so I think it would be a good way to keep dog hair away from the plants.. Might make my own space to save the 100 bux. I am hoping to get 4 nice sized plants in there. (I figured it would be easier to take care of 4 bigger ones than 10 small ones) Going to try just fans for moving the CO2 around and venting.. If the smell gets crazy Ill add a carbon filter. I just don't know if I want to do it upstairs in a spare room or the basement. Basement gets cold in the winter, would have to add a heater.. But it is more out of sight and stealth is key for me. Lighting: Going with LED to save on electric and heat. Ruled out COBs and Amare, to pricey. Thinking about Mars Hydro. The question is what series? Reflector or Series II.. I'm thinking series 2 because they are more updated? Also, right now I'm in the belief that more light the better, so I'm thinking about getting a 600w HID equivalent. I feel like 400w equivalent may not be enough and I figure like every company in the world they might slightly overstate the effectiveness. I am however looking at the P300 from Platinum LED But lighting will take the majority of my money. Seeds and Medium: Starting off with just some swag seeds from some mid grade (probably low level to you guys) that Ive collected. Hopefully they take, they don't look the darkest.. Just didn't want to buy nice seeds and kill them off lol, if all goes well my next grow will probably be with some from a seed bank. Currently I am going to go with soil as my medium. Ive been watching Jorge Cervantes and reading and a couple times I seen/heard it mentioned that soil is good for noobs because its more forgiving. Probably going to go from solo cups for seedling straight into a 3 or 5 gallon pot. Nutes/Training: Need to do more research.. I don't know anything about this yet. I like the tea idea tho. I know people pump CO2 in the room to produce bigger heavier buds, need to do more research on comparative yields. Also need to do more research on training. Ive seen the scrog on youtube and LST method but that's all really it, only seen, I do not understand it yet. I know its meant to produce a bigger yield but don't know which to use in what situation or anything like that. Books I picked up: Ed Rosenthals Marijuana Growers Handbook Marijuana Horticulture: A Guide to Indoor and Outdoor Growing by Jorge Cervantes Anyway I think that's all I got for right now, please critique what I am thinking and any info would be very much appreciated! I want to be successful and not kill off the ladies on the first go! lol
