How do these kind of nutes work? I've been using the Advanced Nutrients pH perfect sensi and I never pH. But last grow I ran into a bunch of deficiencies/lead discoloration around wk 5/6 of flower and I wasn't ever able to correct it before I chopped so I'm sure it affected my yield. It got me thinking, these nutes say pH perfect, but they're also mainly designed for hydro....I know hydro and soil need different pH levels, is it possible that these kind of nutes are trying to keep my soul and hydro pH levels and that's why I ran into problems? I'm gonna get new nutes eventually but I still have a good amount of this stuff left so I wanna use it properly P
If you never ph, you'll never know. Do you think the ph was too high? Or do you think it might have been too low? If you think it was too low you could cut back on amount in a gallon of water. I would look around for somebody that is a good guesser and ask what they guess. Or see if maybe they have a ph pen you could borrow. Then you could check and see if the ph is way off. I wouldn't blame ph pefect nutes though, they have a buffer to stabalize ph, but that assumes it is somewhat normal to start with.
Most Hydro shops will have a cheap dropper type of test kit for under $10.00. My city tap water runs a steady 8.5 PH and never changes. I run soil with sulfur added to keep the high PH water in check. Amending with chicken manure and more Sulfur dust twice a year has worked very well for many years now. BNW
Yeah I'm gonna test runoff throughout flower on this run, I got a pH pen about a month ago I just haven't used it much yet because I haven't seen any deficiencies or anything. I guess I was just wondering how exactly this they claim this technology they created works. As a newbie grower I read them saying "you can throw your pH pen away, you'll never need it with these nutrients!" and well I guess they fooled me because I know better now that that's too good to be true. P
I got a ppm and pH test kit (2 separate pens) for about 30$ on Amazon, I've only tested my water once (I've got an ro system), it came out a smidge under 6 and my runoff the one time I tested was about 6.3. So I guess I shouldn't be too concerned.... P
