PH Continually Drops

    When PH drops, its due to plants not using nutrients and evaporation.
    When PH rises, its due to plants consuming more nutrients....

    Please correct these statements if you feel like they should read otherwise.


    I ask because my PH has been dropping like crazy with 30 plants from seed on an ebb and flow setup to a 55 gallon reservoir. I water test the PH and the PH just keeps dropping... Theres no end. I just keep adding ph down day after day :confused:

    Maybe that's why?

    Does the pH keep going up or down? If it's going down add pH up instead.

    Make sure your reservoir is covered! any light in there will produce algae which raises the ph...happened to me and now my ph rises.1-.2 every 24 hours instead of 1-1.5 ph points every 12 hours

    They are asking for more nutes...Up the ppm by 50-75

    UP the nutes on 10 day old plants... WRONG! I got it under control
    Small changes and I'm between 5.0 and 6.0 no problem now :)

    well with limited information .. Its a tough call..
    perhaps when asking for assistance you should include all the info

    Your still gonna want to raise it to 5.6-6.1area, 5.0 is still too low. Is any light getting into your reservoir?

    I'm pretty sure it's just light making algae in his res but he seems like he doesn't need much help and figured it all out

    I started following that formula and it's got me on the right track now.
    pH drops, lower the nutes
    pH rises, increase nutes.

    Also, are you using R.O. water? Are you buffering it?

    i figured it out with help from YODA... rez temps were too high... algae/fungus were causing ph to be erradic. Check them out in the '64 white widow' thread in hydroponics sextion
