it will grow slower..........providing there are still some nutrients in the soil/medium... get some nutes....healthier plants, bigger stems, better root development...etc.... sun and water is a good way to start of, less room for error...
It's still a plant. Most plants only get sun and water, and they still grow. You will get bud, but the nutrients and other equipment help to increase that amount and speed of the process.
