Not knowing my path

Discussion in 'Philosophy' started by AmyJade27, Aug 31, 2018.

  1. Hey everyone, I’m currently in my last year of a BA in computer science
I like my career but it’s not a passion of mine.
I know that career has great opportunities when it comes to job positions.
Recently I started smoking weed and I’ve been very drawn to music, i used to play violin and piano when younger but i did it because my family wanted me to... never really liked it or enjoyed it.
I’m now doing it because I enjoy it so so much, it transports me to magical places I had no idea even existed.
I wanna learn the basics and eventually creating some music of my own.
Do y’all think it’s too late for me to learn and hopefully making something out of it?
    I’m 23 btw

  2. Hell no… It’s never too late. You’re just a young lady and in my opinion you’re just discovering who you are. Of course I’d keep the computer science thing going because it’s a good way for you to make money and be successful but there’s absolutely no reason you can’t continue doing what you’re doing with music.

Kudos on finding something you truly enjoy.

  4. I agree with Jerry. You are never too old to learn new things and you are still young.
If music is calling, by all means answer that call.

  6. Always follow ur passion. U could do everything someone else wanted to do with their life, make a lot of money etc. but if u don't feel it, in my personal experience, ur never gonna be satisfied. I therefore highly urge u to follow ur instinct ASAP.

  8. I found out college wasn’t for me... growing quality bud and carpentry are my thing. I’m only 21 and I learned that early on. The sooner you find what you truly love to do all the better life gets! Don’t become confined to something that wil make you unhappy. The whole point of life is to be happy

  9. That's great! I'm glad you found your path early on in life
I would love to live off of music, but there's still so much for me to learn!
    Good luck

  10. It’s never to late to do anything. I’d say you’ve never really taken the time to find out what you actually like. Maybe it’s time you do that.

  14. You've got a great start on life. Nothing says you can't do both computers and music (and many more things).
The harder you work, the luckier you get.

  16. Just grab a guitar or whatever and play as long as you won't die next week you should have enough time to get good at it.
Don't play for money though it's the death of the artist

  18. Right but for those that DO end up making cash in the long run; over plenty of time I’d damn well take the $$$$$$$!

  19. Sure. I think there's a difference between playing for pay and getting paid for playing.

  20. Follow your dreams.
    Temper them with realistic goals.

Music will make you feel proud of yourself and satisfy your creative needs.
A good reliable job will take care of your physical needs
