  1. 5 Tb... oh dear...

I've not stored music or movies since my last something like 500mb HD died about 8 years ago.

Problem was straight after it died I noticed that my actual brain memory must've got lazy:love-m3j: though I still partly blame the internet for making information so easy to access, so now I can't remember half the music I liked listening too which is the worst part...

  2. Damn son. That's rough. I recently lost all of my music but that was less than 1 TB. It would have been worse if it was my own recordings, seeing how long it takes to do those lol. Always look on the bright side, 'could be worse'

Was thinking of buying a 4 TB external hard drive, they're like $100 and putting music, movies etc on there. Then I feel motivated to spend less time watching movies or whatever so it goes back and forth

  3. I literally visualized the whole thing in my mind comic book style! lmao That was a cool story!

  4. I didn't go about it the right way but I wanted to have all of that stored for later access in case of a potential long term internet outage. I tend to only use cloud services as personal photo/video backup but i still keep hard copies as well. It would be a good idea to use it as a reliable backup in the meantime though!

  5. That's A good idea, I might just do something like that! Thanks!

  6. True! Same problem i'm having right now! Mostly just procrastinating though! lol

  8. You're not weird at all. I don't store anything on my drives either. Its really a waste of time for me. The only exception is when I am writing a paper for school. I will back it up on a usb drive until I submit it to the instructor. I could care less about music movies, or porn, but I will be damned if Im losing a twenty page paper. I also back those up online, but prefer the usb option so that I can work on it anywhere I need to without having to have web access.

Some people are also just digital horders.

  9. Forensic recovery.
Or get the logic board swapped.

SOUR DIESEL AND GHOST TRAIN HAZE before the gg4 crosses start to go in.
SOUR DEISEL, STRAWBERRY HAZE first run to test before the gorilla glue #4 go in!

  11. Nope still have it stashed away until I come across the right person. got offers for around 250 300 but not sure if I trust sending the drive through mail service. I look at it like a time capsule now! :)

  13. If it makes you feel any better, my buddies brother sold his entire blu-ray collection for a dollar per movie, then purposely wiped his tb drive of all downloaded movies so he could download a bunch of shit onto it, then downloaded a virus onto the tb, then my buddy got the virus when he opened one of the files. I still hear about this story every time I see homie and this was like 5 years ago.

    "You remember that time..."

  14. I copy all my worthy shit on two externals ...

  15. Linux that shit. There are so many programs that you can use to recover hard drives. Find the right software. I thought the same thing, after I reformatted a hard drive like 12 times (not kidding), and when I used one of those super data recovery programs on linux, I was finding shit from the very first time I used the drive. The tools are out there. Hit up some linux mirc channels. I was a tweaker for years and frequently had random shit brought to me and you wouldn't believe the shit I found using certain programs. I can't recall the exact program names, but talk to some real linux heads and you can definitely get that data back. It's not lost!

  16. I just lost 1Tb of tv and general poop tv stuff many rare docs too

I'm chilling just now ...on my 3rd week

and am working on a plan

the assumption so far with my 1Tb USB v3.0 drive is to dismantle the drive

extract the disc and replace into a used but same drive with the USB/Sata interface still connected

much of these drives die.. due to the connect between the usb and sata side ...in the drive

wearing out, this is the weakest part the worst being WD tho I shop Seagate

this sata usb is a shitty circuit found by HD makers to cut big costs..

making drives much cheaper for the peeps to buy

although everything else wit the drive is great top tech ....lol

IMO: looking to replacing the usb? / sata connect circuit

    good luck

  17. a clicking HD may well be a seeker arm not re setting a very cheap repair indeed

    check YT for details
