Newtown 7th Grader Starts Movement To Rid America Of Violent Video Games « CBS New York Im sorry, but this kid has a lot to learn about life. Just looking at the statistics how can anyone draw the conclusion that violent video games lead to mass shootings and or violence. I have played video games for much of my life. First person shooters being my favorite and I have yet to kill a single person. Same goes for almost every single male I know. We should start a movement to put an end to D&D as they pretend to kill things and that is bad umm K?
Apparently the NRA agrees. Watched part of the news conference earlier and he was going on about the violence in video games and movies.
The NRA is a bunch of blowhards. They care nothing about freedom. How much do these people honestly believe video games affect kids? Play some Call of Duty and you'll be trained for murder, right? Give me a fucking break. Violence in games in no way conditions a person for real world violence, the idea is just asinine. As long as it's in moderation, I would think that video games are healthy. It's a lot less destructive to shoot zombies on Left for Dead than it is for kids to be out starting fights, I could see video games as a healthy outlet for anger. Some psychiatrists even use games as part of therapy for kids.
pretty sure there hasn't been even one murder contributed to video games.... so his argument is invalid...can't link one thing to another without the other happening
So apparently the shooter at Sandy Hook played too much black ops? Anyone else going to get involved with this movement by dropping off your video games in a bin? Probably just a scam to get hella free video games... Either way, can't wait for GTA Five
The media is playing to our emotions on this one. Instead of talking about how inherently fucked up our society is because of income inequality and a collapsing economy, they talk about bullshit like gun control and video games as the culprit. Its not the kid's fault we have a media that is like the agencies in 1984

Violent behaviors have been linked to violent TV and video games through psychological studies. HOWEVER, it is he parents' job to teach children the context of these forms of media and that they do not accurately reflect real life. Pretty much any type of media can lead to any type of behavior; the proper response is to teach children right from wrong, not just say "fuck personal responsibility, just ban it because I'm too lazy to be a good parent".
people are looking for answers as to why something like that could happen? what it is could be 2 things. a. an anomaly b. a certain interest group, is indoctrinating these people to do mass killings, so that all of our guns are taken away and we are helpless. why did he kill his mother? what did she know? is there more to the story? why are so many killings all happening right now? no violent video games are to blame I'm afraid.
