Need Photo Advice For Journal

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by HouseholdHydro, Jun 29, 2010.

  1. I am now in the progress of flowering my current grow, and I have been taking pictures for self documentation; but, I plan to share a full and detailed journal from start to finish on my next grow which will be starting soon.

I seem to have trouble capturing photos that show the details of the nodes and pistils and trichomes of a plant. I take great pictures of the plants as a whole, but definitely need to improve photo quality of "detail shots".

My camera is a Nikon S230 10 Megapixels.

For close up shots of nodes etc. should i zoom or just try to keep the camera up close? Should I turn on macro mode for those tight close ups? Many of these close up shots I have taken seem to be out of focus.

I would really appreciate any help that can be given so that I may be better able to photo journal my grows.

heres some examples of shots taken:
