hey i was wondering what the best cheap bulb i could get to start flowering..or at least does anyone know what color spectrum/K would be best.. thanks
You will find that information all over this board. As in depth as you would like to explore it. But the quick answer to your questions is go get a few 2700K CFL's at wal-mart.
CFLs work pretty good, but you need about 100w ( ACTUAL; not incandescent equivalent) for the first plant and 50w for each additional (minimum). 5500-6500k is good for vegetative growth/ 2700k is best for flowering. I use 4 42w and 4 27w CFLs to flower all but 1 of the 27w are 2700k, w/ one 27w at 5500k to broaden the spectrum a bid.
