Need help

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by 5mokestacks, May 2, 2016.

  1. What could cause the leaf to turn yellow and start to deteriorate. It starts out with shiny spots in the leaves the the spots turn yellow and then they start to eat away at itself.[IMG]

  2. Looks like a nutrient deficiency, needs supplements.

  3. I added cal mag but it's still happening

  4. Calmag doesn't even work unless you are in the proper pH range, on top of numerous other issues that can arise from the same cause

Do you check your pH? I feel like a broken record cause that's always what I suggest first hahaha

  5. I I make sure the pH stays at 5.7-6.0 preferably under 6.0

  6. You are in hydro or a soilless mix then I assume?

  7. Yeah hydro

  8. Well you're pretty much good for calmag then, some charts say it shouldn't be below 6 but I've read that, that should work. I haven't ever grown in actual hydro though so don't take my word on that one.

I just checked the ppm of the water I use and it's a 120ppm And I just checked my smallest plant that seems to be stunted and the ppm is like 1400

  11. I believe if anything, you are too strong on your nutes....unless you know this strain likes it strong. But prob lock out of some sort. I would thin it out and watch the new grow for signs. I hope this helps

  12. I did a nute flush today and will let it go wit just water til Thursday at a ph of 5.7-5.8 then I will add half of what recommended. The back of the GH nutes said add 3 teaspoons per gallon but I have a chart that says 1 per gallon so I may try 1.2 or 2 per gallon on Thursday

I like to keep between 6.0-6.2, Also I use AN, it is strong, if you are not using RO water, which I don't, pH probably will need adjusted, be careful not to make drastic adjustments, a little at a time. Nutrient issues take days to appear, and the corrections as well, its really not going to effect the overall grow. A little cal mag that's all.

  15. Yeah I had a similar issue with my girls a few weeks ago. I'm also in hydro it was strange because they weren't showing nute burn they were at 1200 ppm with 6.0 pH I cleaned reservoir and brought ppm down to 400 and within a week the new growth was all vibrant and growing faster than ever. Hopefully this helps I'm using AN Micro Grow Bloom btw
