Marijuana is floating ashore at Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA - A new kind of sea weed has been found along a Southern California beach.

KEYT-TV reports that marijuana has been washing ashore on Santa Barbara's West Beach.
The station says a viewer made them aware of social media video showing two men collecting pot buds among drift material in the surf line between Sea Landing and Stearns Wharf on April 7.

The Harbor Patrol first learned of the situation on March 31 when a dredge company called to report seeing what looked like marijuana floating in the water.

Harbor Patrol Supervisor Erik Engberetson says some of the marijuana was picked up and disposed of.

Hope it's good weather to go "beach combing"! :bolt: (It's been snowing a bit here)
(FYI - Salt water will not remove any THC, but be sure to put any cannabis you find into some clean, fresh water to remove any salt and sand.)

  2. How nice it is to grow my own and not have to clamor down to the beach for some free swag soaking in medical waste and tar balls...

  3. Saw this on the news. I'm a hundred mile away from SB. Usually washes up in bales. Very common. Doesn't happen everyday, but often. Never saw it loose like this before. Lot of times smugglers will have to sink the boat in a hurry. But we've had some hellacious storms blow through lately and it's a big lonely ocean out there.

Umm, a wall is not going to stop this.

  4. It happened here in Oregon. It all washed up and was on the beach when it was discovered though, not floating around out there .
