Not completely free... Well at least not for me, I would feel obligated to donate. And with how much pancakes cost, I would probably end up donating the price or more... Which would pretty much be me paying for them.
normally they would say proceeds go to the charity but they know people will drop way more than the price of the pancakes so in the end we arent winning haha but it IS a good cause
