(bad cancer/birth defects)
Illinois has the most restrictive medical MJ laws on the books......my wife will qualify as she has MS..... but for her to get a card we have to: 1. Have a long standing relationship with the recommending Dr. (done, she has been seeing the same three Drs for years, and two of them are considering going through the hassle of getting registered with the state) 2. Get fingerprinted by the state police, and submit to a background check 3. As her caregiver, I will have to be fingerprinted and background checked as well 4. The DR will also have to be fingerprinted and background checked. Ironically, one of her DRs (the pain specialist) told her that the licensing requirements for recommending MJ in Illinois are much harder than for proscribing the oxycontin, valium, and vicodin that she takes now .... If you want to follow along, here is the official Illinois web page: http://www2.illinois.gov/gov/mcpp/Pages/default.aspx If you want to read the law as written, here is a link to the actual law http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=3503&ChapterID=35
