Rachel Maddow and Cenk Uygur say it best about the Anthony Weiner Scandal. After the repeated republicans congressman/senators who have had scandals not one was peer pressured by his colleagues to resign. Not one of these scandals were intolerable to their constituents.

But Anthony Weiner however was extremely intolerable, when nothing illegal, nor physical sex was conducted! How is it that Anthony Weiner was completely tossed under the buss and not one republican has been. For examples, David Vittor, Ensign..or even John Boner who was caught giving out checks from the tobacco company while congress was voting, none was forced to resign...but Anthony Weiner, thats a different story! Double Standard much?

I blame the right-wing media! and here is why, in the video Cenk said it best. This scandal is about his private life..i do not care, nothing illegal, so what? This is what the republicans do, they go after the strongest opposite leader, hence the progressive Anthony Weiner, and they attack..of course democrats will back down..like they always do. The media will continue to ram you over and over, until they destruct the being(Weiner) who the media wants out.

This was a test for the media, now the media knows what to do when a leader, a progressive and a opposite voice against the corporate world (like Anthony Weiner, Dennis Kucinich, and lastly Bernie Sanders)....

any scandal +100% media exposure=end of a career.

I urge you all to watch the video, at least Cenks part- @11:15. Fuck Ed Shultz, i've been pissed at him since day 1 of this, turning against him, and talking like Rush Limbaugh. Rachel Maddow and Cenk Uygur said it best..i really hope you guys watch it, its only 15 minutes of your time!

  2. I don't understand why the media and the entire country are so crazy about this event. Who gives a shit? Some no name politician from the House does something stupid, big deal! There are real issues out there that we're not paying attention to because this nobody thought it would be a good idea to send some lewd photos of himself around the internet.

  3. Greece is about to collapse, the entire EU could fall, the Euro could collapse, the US Dollar is about to collapse, there is civil unrest in all parts of the world, new wars - alliances with Iran/Russia/China and China is PISSED at us, who knows...WWIII?

What do you think the average Jersey Shore, American Idol watcher is more worried about? All that doom and gloom or a good scandal? Tiger Who?

  4. What's even more insane is that there are already a NUMBER of threads, including one by the OP, that he could have posted this in but he chose to make another NEW thread about an issue he considers a non-issue.

    LOL

  5. No wonder our country is so fucked up. Not that this is some sort of new idea or anything, but if people cared about things that were important instead of who is showing their dick to someone on the internet we'd be way better off in every way. Can't wait to move out of this place. The mindset America instills in its people is fucking stupid.

  6. It is a big deal to the progressives. He was our leader, our voice. A great one. But i see you didn't read my post, or the video for that matter, should of known but tried anyways.

  7. Progressives take an oppressive approach to the Israel / Palestine conflict? I thought you were a socialist?

And you make fun of Ron Paul, calling him a racist for something he didn't write 20 years ago?

  8. Biased article no doubt. Everybody has flaws, i don't necessarily agree with him on foreign policy....but he is our IDEAL, well-spoken, passionate leader and representative for the middle and working class of this country...now our voice is silenced. I remember saying back when the 2010 election happened, and was relieved i still have Weiner, Kucinich and Sanders in the senate...

I remember saying something along the lines:

"Anthony Weiner will never get voted out in that liberal district and why would he leave?!...unless something happens..":(

one by one...feingold, grayson...weiner....who is next?

  9. What were Anthony Weiner's opinions on the Federal Reserve System? I loved watching Alan Grayson make Bernanke and the rest of the crooks at the fed squirm but I don't know about Weiner's stance. They (the fed) do the most damage to the middle and "working class" of this country.

Don't be so down, everyone loves a comeback...maybe he'll get re-elected or run in the special election and win. lol

  10. Oh my god MJU, I wish I could toss your some more well deserved rep...

This thread has one purpose -> to suck discussion away from real issues that are egging the world.. MSM and officials are hyping a privacy-invasive remedial issue while they refuse to talk about the nuclear plant that's flooding along the Missouri river; while they refuse to face the Fukishima plant that's STILL reacting; while they refuse to discuss how China has reprimanded the U.S. twice, Russia once, about our aggressive/invasive foreign policy. They've already told us they'll "defend their assets."

Hey Hank, you just signed up here a month or two ago and you have posted 529 times?.. Strange. I wonder who has given this individual his rep, too.. possssiibblllyy

  12. I just ignore the House, for better or for worse.

  13. Yeah he is right, the sex scandal is non-discussion...but having Anthony Weiner resign over it, is a story.

  14. You have a point. Well said!

  15. ... Anyhow, this story holds no weight in my life and people shouldn't even pay any attention to it. The lie is the only eye catcher, and that wouldn't even have occurred if people had minded their own business in the first place.

  16. I really doubt he had any, seemed like the mental equivalent to Sarah Palin with a temper, and appeared as a crook to me himself. Glad he got caught lying about all of his cybersex with female members of his political blog, followers on twitter, and eventually confessing to fake sex on something like 4 other social networking sites, pics of his dick and so on.

I guess for once I don't 'blame' the conservative media. It's kind of creepy really. Have you noticed all of his sexual texts flouted his political power? I think it's a case of a guy with no personal integrity that I can't imagine truly 'believes' in his political positions (which are similar to mine unfortunately, and I love people who fight for causes I admire).

I respect Obama for saying he should resign. And being in his shoes.. when the boss says that, it's time to, and I'm surprised the weasel did.

  17. "Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence in the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power and the love of money. Separately, each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. Place before the eyes of such men a post of honor, that shall at the same time be a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it. The vast number of such places it is that renders the British government so tempestuous. The struggles for them are the true source of all those factions which are perpetually dividing the nation, distracting its councils, hurrying it sometimes into fruitless and mischievous wars, and often compelling a submission to dishonorable terms of peace." - Ben Franklin, Constitutional Convention, 1787

  18. Unfortunately now his district's fate is probably sealed due to the fact that New York state is going to be redrawing the boundaries of congressional districts. Weiner's territory could be eliminated all together, possibly turning the new district into a republican hold out...gerrymandering anyone?
    ----
"Because of population shifts, New York state is slated to lose two House seats in 2013, and lawmakers in the state capital will spend the next few years redrawing the boundaries of congressional districts in a highly politicized process that could, in theory, wipe Weiner's old territory in Queens and Brooklyn from the map.

Traditionally, lawmakers looking to butcher a district have turned to ones where there is no incumbent, meaning that whoever runs to replace Weiner now could be getting a job that won't exist in 19 months."

  19. Gerrymandering is bullshit but both parties do it to their benefit depending on which is in power after a census. They are redistricting Ron Paul as well, taking from him some of his best counties apparently.

Anywho - Weiner on the Federal Reserve?

I take that as he has no comments on the single largest cause for destruction of, as you said, "the middle and working class of this country"?
