March 26, 2013: 5 seeds germinating in my closet. I've placed a candle under them to add warmth, so they sprout a tap root quicker. This can't be a bad idea, right?
How hot is it at the bottom of the container? You don't want to cook the seed, or dry out the paper towel too much. I've never tried it to know if it's a bad idea, lol. I always just toss mine in a sock drawer, or if you need heat, the top of the fridge works great. I use the top of my grow light in the winter. But if it's not freezing cold, you don't really NEED the extra heat.
