Music For Gaming

Discussion in 'Gamer's Heartbeat' started by AR Toasty, Jan 23, 2013.

  1. I tried searching for one, but I couldn't find a preexisting thread about this. If you know of one, please link me to it.

I can't be the only one who likes to listen to music while gaming. Particularly FPSs or open world free roam like GTA. I'm trying to create a playlist for such activities and am looking for recommendations. I like to game to Eminem, Rolling Stones, Blink 182, high energy dubstep, and the like.

I'm looking for high energy tunes, but throw out whatever your favorites are. Let's get a good list going.

    :smoke:

  2. Flying Lotus is pretty sick, copped his cosmogramma album.

More of a chill electronic hiphop, definitely goes with free ROAM shit like minecraft, skyrim, GTA etc..

Night driving is especially bad ass to Fly Lo, makes the world feel surreal. . . :smoking:

  3. I listen to mostly Getter and Excision when I play online shooters. For free roam games though i usually prefer more relaxed dubstep, like Brown & Gammon. Check him out if you've never heard of him, he's a UK producer.

Mostly heavy dubstep for FPS, gets the blood going :)

  5. Lamb of God and Nazi Zombies. Match made in heaven

  6. Black Ops 2 Soundtrack... 'Nuff said

  10. Deadmau5 is awesome for open world games, imo

  11. YES!

I dare someone to listen to this while playing Minecraft or WoW or something and not love it..

  12. I tend to put on my own tunes. I prefer stuff without vocals because it really annoys me when I hear two people speaking/singing at the same time.

Lately, I've been playing a lot of exploding plastix.

Also amon tobin. one of his albums actually is a video game soundtrack... granted, i think it's one of his weaker albums, but it's still great. and it really is perfect for gaming, IMO (this is from that album, but check out his other stuff too if you like it).

bonobo's great too. again, no lyrics (though some of his songs/albums have guest vocals). this stuff's a bit more upbeat, might be weird for FPS games or something... but I dig it when I'm just chilling playing civilization.

Basically, I just play whatever instrumental stuff I'm in the mood for... I was gonna keep posting more, but I realized how huge this post would be. So, that's good enough. :)

  13. Staind, Korn, Evans Blue, Slipknot, Three Six Mafia, Deftones, Katatonia, Eminem, Biggie, Pac

All that is usually playing while im on Starcraft 2

  14. i mostly listen to trance and drum & bass when i'm gaming. i think it goes well with fps at least.

I put some Ratatat music into my Fallout 3 folder, so when I'm wandering the wastes while tripping on unmentionables, this plays.

All of Ratatat's music videos are trippy as fuuuuu
