To me, if a musical instrument isn't being played and the song is just made using a techy device that can create the beats for you and provides the ability to "sample" music of what actual musicians have created, I don't care what the device user comes up with, they're a no talent hack riding on the shoulders of those who had actual talent.
You mean like an effects processor for electric guitar? I'd say that's no different than a keyboard instead of a piano. Still playing an instrument. Still had to learn how to play it which took untold hours to do well.
